Presented in this book is an ideographic explanation of the 100 most frequent Chinese characters. The author believes they constitute a powerful learning aid which can shorten the time taken to familiarize oneself with these ancient characters from a period of several weeks of study to less than a few hours of interested reading.
The explanations given are not explanations of characters as symbols, but plausible ideographic associations of the character's visual form with the popular meaning the character has in current usage.
