When I first started teaching bridge, I put together five typewritten pages of basic bridge conventions as a quick reference guide. These pages became known as "Belinda's Cheat Sheets" and were widely circulated among other bridge players. I would often see complete strangers studying them before the start of a duplicate bridge game. At the urging of family and friends, I expanded my "Cheat Sheets" and created this book. Quick Guide to Bridge Conventions: This book is a quick reference guide for more than 45 bridge conventions commonly used during the bidding process or auction. The purpose of this book is not to explain the rationale for each convention, but rather, to provide a quick and succinct explanation of when to use a particular convention and what each bid means when describing your hand to your partner. In some cases, I also tell you why I prefer to use one convention instead of another when there is a choice. More Quick References: This book also includes a section that explains some of the more commonly accepted "bridge rules" during play of the hand, along with a section on Leads and Defense, which describes some of the methods I like to use when competing at the bridge table, and last, a section on bridge etiquette.
