Barack Obama, the current President of the United States, was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, in the state of Hawaii to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (1936-1982) (born in Kanyadhiang, Rachuonyo District, Nyanza Province, Kenya Colony, British Empire) and Stanley Ann Dunham, known as Ann (1942-1995) (born in Wichita, Kansas). Obama has one maternal half-sister, one paternal half-sister and at least three surviving paternal half-brothers. Two other men were raised as the sons of Barack Obama, Sr. although in his memoir Dreams from My Father, Obama wrote that several relatives openly stated that Barack Obama, Sr. was not their biological father.
