When Claire confides her troubles to her new boss Maxine, nicknamed Max, the two form a bond. Meanwhile, Steve has a new co-worker named Christopher, who he goes to for advice. Both Claire and Steve get jealous of their mate's new friend, and both assume the new friends are of the opposite sex. Steve thinks Max is a man, while Claire believes Chris to be a woman!
Identity Crisis shows the bumps in the road present in every marriage, and how they can become especially strained when misunderstandings are not cleared up quickly. When Claire becomes pregnant, the whole situation comes to a head.
