Over decades the on-load tap-changers were improved, becoming reliable electrical apparatus, available in a large palette of applications for different values of electric current and voltages, domain that covers the necessities of actual grid and of the transformers from different industrial processes and assures an optimum control system. Starting from this consideration, this study shall present shortly different types of on-load tap-changers used now, describing how they are built and the using mode. Also, it shall present new solutions for the on-load adjustment of the power transformers' voltage and their experimental execution along a thermal study associated with the main components. Final conclusions, bibliographic references and annexes, completed the whole work, which is intended as a starting point for further research on new solutions for on-load tap-changers. The book applies alike to researchers, experts, engineers, university specialists and students which study theory, design test or operate with power transformers that include also on-load tap-changers.
