Little is known regarding the relations of the cerebral parts with their cranial covering. Lack of anatomical brain topography may increase complication rates of the neurosurgery. Proper craniotomy of the brain lesion and correct interpretation of the gyral structures under the craniotomy site is one of the most important steps in successful surgery.
