Ascariasis is endemic in Kashmir valley and is a very common feature in children in Kashmir. Such children are brought to OPD or surgical emergency service, the latter group referred from peripheral hospitals and health centers .This group is very important for surgeon, to diagnose them at earlier stage and to determine the modality of treatment..Our study has confirmed the general observation that intestinal ascariasis is common in pediatric age group in this valley. The main aim of this study was to have principle of "let the worms come out of their own" and "early recognition of this morbid condition to avoid serious complications with minimal surgical intervention".A noticeable attention is need of time at present to reduce the burden of this disease
