O knihe

According to WHO definition, neonatal mortality is death among live births during the first 28 completed days of life.Benshangul Gumuze region is one of the regional state in Ethiopia with highest neonatal mortality rate. There few studies conducted at community level;however, one size fits all approach is unlikely to work since the effect of intervention must depend on the local cause of death profile and the health system platform available there. Therefor, the objective this study was to identify predictors of neonatal mortality. This work revealed that model house hold in health extension package, antenatal care, age of first pregnancy less than 20 years age, primipara mothers, pregnancy and delivery complication, small size at birth, gestational age less than 37 weeks and home delivery were independent predictors of neonatal mortality. Generally, this book is useful for planning, implementing and evaluation of health programs targeting on neonates and can be used by government and non government organizations. Further more, higher institutions and individual researchers can use it as platform for further detailed study.
