O knihe
Louise Marie Adélaïde de Bourbon, Duchess of Orléans, (Paris, 13 March, 1753 - Ivry-sur-Seine, 23 June, 1821), wife of the so-called "royal regicide" Philippe Égalité, was the mother of France's last king, Louis-Philippe, King of the French. Her father was Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, Duke of Penthièvre and her mother was Princess Maria Theresa Felicitas of Modena. At the death of her brother, Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, prince de Lamballe, she became the wealthiest heiress in France prior to the French Revolution. She was the sister in law of the infamous princesse de Lamballe and had good relations with Marie Antoinette. One of the first patrons of Élisabeth-Louise Vigée-Le Brun, she was the last member of the so called Bourbon-Penthièvre family.
