About the Author M. W. Joyce was born and raised in Utah. When growing up, the author could usually be found with a book in hand while doing mundane chores - much to the exasperation of everyone around.

Love of learning followed Joyce through the years. Attending a university in almost every state in the west, Joyce finally completed graduate work at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Joyce's knowledge and love of words is put to use through writing. While living in North County San Diego, Joyce was a frequent visitor to the Palomar Observatory and became acquainted with Arabian horse breeding. Joyce incorporates both subjects in Secret Keepers.

The author lives with one son, Joe, daughter-in-law Leslie, and the family Golden Retriever, Jack, in the unique town of Draper, Utah, along the Wasatch front some 35 miles from downtown Salt Lake City. Joyce's posterity includes six children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren thus far.
