Uremic stomatitis (US) primarily occurs in end-stage renal failure particularly when the disease has progressed gradually for many years. Uremic stomatitis is a rare complication of uremic syndrome that occurs when nitrogenous waste products build up in the mouth, and the blood urea level increases by 300mg/ml, but changes in oral mucosa can also be seen at levels below 200mg/ml. uremic stomatitis is classified as erythematous, ulcerative, hemorrhagic and hyperkeratotic. Patients can complain of pain, dysgeusia unpleasant taste and burning sensation with the lesions, and the clinician may detect an odor of ammonia or urine in the patient¿s breath, clinical representation can white plaques distributed predominantly on the buccal mucosa, floor of the mouth and dorsal or ventral surface of the tongue.
