O knihe

To be is not just to be in existence, it is to be in constant communicative mode with others. This communication involves exchange of our being or vital forces. Being is to the West what force is to Africa. It serves an important ontological basis for understanding the worldviews of both cultures. This book employs the notion of being or force as a means of finding a common basis for understanding humanity as against the antithesis created along cultural and racial lines. No matter how culturally diverse people might be, there always will be a modicum of similarity in their ways of life. Therefore, this text emphasises that if 'being' is equivalent to 'force' then Western and African ontologies are basically the same and it can be implied that humanity is one and the same. This text will serve a useful purpose in the hands of students of philosophy, social and cultural analysts and everyone who is interested in a unified view of humanity.
