The study provided an understanding of the changes in coastline and land use in coastal regions of Istanbul between 1987 and 2007. The book provided an in-depth analysis of the land use changes in the study area between 1987 and 2007.Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) techniques were used in the study. Two Landsat images acquired in 1987 and 2007 with 30m resolution were used by using Erdas Imagine.
