Objective: To establish a normative database of retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (RNFLT) as a function of age using time domain OCT in the normal Lebanese population and to compare them with the values found in different other populations. Methods: The study was performed on 120 healthy Lebanese volunteers aged between 18 and 73 years. Peripapillary CNFR was determined for each patient by 3 measurements of 256 points each, performed on OCT time domain in one of the 2 eyes. Conclusion: CNFR thickness varies with age, quadrants and different populations. These variables should be taken into consideration when analysing the results of the CNFR thickness.
