O knihe
This book explores stream of consciousness technique in the interior monologues of Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground. What initiated the author to carry out a study attempt on the novel is that most of the articles, books or literary studies conducted so far are on those fictional texts produced in the early 20th C after the term stream of consciousness had been coined in the field of psychology towards the end of the 19th C. Nevertheless, this book tries to explore this narrative technique had been used by earlier writers like Dostoevsky, who depicted the inner workings of his character before the emergence of the psychological stream of consciousness. The method for the text analysis is basically descriptive according to the parameters set based on the conceptual framework of this book in order to verify stream of consciousness in the excerpts selected from the novel under discussion. Hence, five parameters are used for exploring stream of consciousness technique in novel. The main elements of stream of consciousness are evident in the novel because the monologues of the narrator reflect his inner world against the outer reality.
