Awareness is the first step to healing, to being, and to understanding the true meaning of belonging to oneself. Anastasia Wasko decides to wake up from her loneliness even if it means treading into inner chaos. In this work that moves beyond traditional memoir, Anastasia chronicles 20 years of travels inand out of the US to find herself. She assumes an observer state, "KiezKucker," in a second person perspective. Each chapter is an opportunity to ask "But what would I do?" and "How can I be more authentic here?" She shares how she found layers of media and cultural narratives overlaid on who she was expected to be as opposed to who she really was. She does not shy away from communicating her vulnerability and, at times, her inability to stay grounded in shared reality.
