O knihe
An equation of state is a thermodynamic relationship describing the state of matter under a given set of physical conditions. It is a constitutive equation which provides a mathematical relationship between two or more state functions associated with the matter, such as its temperature, pressure, volume, or internal energy. Equations of state are useful in describing the physical and chemical properties of matter, including gases, liquids and solids. Alternatively, kinetic theory (e.g. kinetic theory of gases) attempts to explain macroscopic properties such as pressure, temperature, or volume, by considering the movement or motion of their primary particles (atoms, molecules, etc.). An acceptable kinetic theory of solids needs to incorporate the more fundamental aspects of both of these approaches in order to be comprehensive.
