Since the beginning of the compound's oral history, that is all that has ever existed, their lives governed by ominous figures known as Giants. The Giants ruthlessly break the bodies and wills of all Regulars just to appease their selfish desires. In the process of a futile rebellion against these tyrants, one Regular named Ronan uncovers a phenomenon, the secrets of which are passed down to the succeeding leaders of the rebellion just before his long and painful execution. This anomaly is known as: dreaming.
