Determined to put her unsolved murder to rest, Luke confides in a Catholic priest and provides the police with enough information to suspect him as the killer. Luke spends the next part of his life behind bars after being charged and sentenced to prison for her murder. In-between the visits from the priest, Luke writes down his memories and this new knowledge of the true meaning of life.
