"Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Ever heard that before? What comes after that first step? That question is often unanswered in the Evangelical church. We call people to conversion with dramatic words like "transformation", "rebirth", and "redemption", but when the force of those words wears off and the last organ strains of "Just As I Am" have faded into the balcony, we quickly realize that there is more to this than a single step. Beyond the moment there is a movement. Beyond the decision there is a lifestyle. Beyond the crisis there is a "Christ-walk." To use Biblical language, beyond the 'narrow gate' there is a 'narrow way'. How do we find that way and how do we walk on it?
