Hunters and sportsmen were the first naturalists and have laid broad and deep-foundations Of our knowledge. But their modes and their objects are falling out Of fashion - to my mind fortunately, because I cannot see any rational distinction between the excitement of boys chasing a cat in a garden suburb and sportsmen at an otter hunt. In our pages you will not hear the hunter's horn, or get advice on the breeding of pheasants.
