If anyone wants to know a language, he /she needs to understand the meaning of words in that language so as to communicate well. Sense Relations are about the ways words connect and relate with each other in that language. Words do relate as Synonyms (words with similar meanings), Homonyms (words that sound the same) Antonyms (Opposites in meaning) Hyponyms (words that include the meaning of another), Polysemy (words with multiple meanings) and Meronyms (words that show a part of a whole relationship). The sense relations are realized through the two main processes of lexical narrowing and broadening where a word is constantly lexically adjusted in context to bring out a totally different meaning from the intended meaning.
