It seems equally relevant to briefly describe what the book is about. As the poet and the subject of the photographs, this book is about standing naked in the middle of a freeway singing a song you thought was Adele in the wrong key. Broadly, it's about everything that scares me. The book describes growing up, learning to understand pain, and accepting who you are outside of who you thought you'd be. More specifically, Socks, Cicadas, & Other Frustrations is about three artists trying to capture the vulnerability of loving oneself.
