Re-admission of patients in surgical ward are common and to some extent more avoidable than medical re-admissions. For quality surgical care re-admission should be studied. Some of them are planned and some are unplanned. The re-admission at surgical wards were studied in a tertiary hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is a cross-sectional, observation. Avoiding re-admission for surgical complications can be the focus of improvement in practice.
