A marriage between science and emotions must be created to obtain a desirable outcome. The universality of the golden proportion is controversial and there is a need for a valid alternative upon which we can rely in creating beautiful smiles that are in harmony with the face. This book discusses in depth the different esthetic aspects of a beautiful smile; both subjectively and objectively. A new esthetic proportion between the face and the central incisors, upon smiling, was presented according to the ratings of different panels of variable specialties; ranging from laymen to professionals from different fields concerned with science and beauty. This was done on a sample of the Egyptian population. The subjective measurements, on the other hand, were carried out using a new device whose construction and validation techniques were discussed as well.
