Olly explains the water cycle to Carl using the scientific terms of evaporation, transpiration, condensation, and precipitation, but in a way that is fun. When assured that Carl is no longer afraid, Olly flies to his tree to sleep. But then something else keeps Olly awake. A glossary at the end of the book defines terms associated with the water cycle: evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, water vapor, hydrologic cycle, runoff, infiltration, and storage.
