In her doctoral thesis, Julia Sandner explores whether this increases the level of protection by attaching greater weight to the affected rights positions in the balancing test under the principle of proportionality. Introducing a new approach for determining normative intersections, the author shows that this may create an effect of mutual reinforcement.
