Vocational training is essential to equip both rural and urban people with the skills to find employment, and this study of an integrated training project in El Salvador offers field-tested approaches and procedures which can be applied to vocational training plans.The project described in this book was part of El Salvador 's National Program for Technical and Vocational Training, which aimed to restructure the vocational training system at the same time as increasing employment. Many of the methods described in this book were developed in the course of the program, which included a business component, covered health and safety and gender issues, as well as training for work. The book also covers contracts, business-training reports and supervision surveys. Many of the forms used by the project are reproduced in the appendix.
