O knihe
Revision with unchanged content. Sexually transmitted infection (STI) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) rates have increased over the years in Canada. Sexual risk among Middle Eastern-Canadians has been understudied despite the need to identify predictors of safer sexual behaviour in preventing STIs and HIV among this population. This study explored associations between factors derived from Wingood and DiClemente's application of the Theory of Gender and Power as they relate to STI/HIV-risk behaviour among Middle Eastern-Canadians. Predictors of both condom non-use and lifetime number of sexual partners were identified among Middle Eastern-Canadians in heterosexual relationships, between the ages of 18 to 35. This book is directed towards researchers, graduate students, and program developers in research areas such as sexual health, behaviour change, and health psychology.
