Spain was the defending champion. This years edition was won by Croatia In this round, the sixteen teams were allocated in four groups of four teams each. The top three qualified for the Qualifying Round. The last team of each group played for the 13th-16th place in the Classification Games. Times given below are in CEST (UTC+2). The twelve teams remaining were allocated in two groups of six teams each. The four top teams advanced to the quarterfinals. The last two teams of each group played for the 9th-12th place. The last teams of each group in the Preliminary Round will compete in this Classification Round. The four teams will play in one group. The last two teams will be relegated to Division B for the next season. All-Tournament Team The Liga ABA, also known as the Adriatic League (from 2001 until 2006 known as Goodyear League and from 2006 until 2011 known as the NLB League for sponsorship reasons), is a top-level regional basketball league, featuring teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Hungary. The league exists alongside scaled-down national leagues in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Montenegro (KoSarkaSka liga Srbije, A-1 Liga, Prvenstvo BIH, 1. SKL, and Opportunity Liga). All but one of Adriatic League teams join their country's own competitions in late spring after the Adriatic League regular season and post-season have been completed. The Adriatic League is a private venture, founded in 2001 and run by Slovenian limited liability company called Sidro. Adriatic Basketball Association is the body that organizes the league and is a full member of ULEB as well as a voting member of the Euroleague board.
