Seminar paper from the year 2023 in the subject History - Miscellaneous, grade: 2,3, University of Marburg, language: English, abstract: When in 1913 Albanian and Bulgarian peasants in Western Macedonia rebelled against the Serbian occupation, it was widely accepted that Austria-Hungary gave them their support and initiated the Uprising. This Study shows that it was primarily the support of the Kingdom of Bulgaria that convinced the Albanians tor rose up, while Austria-Hungary and even the Albanian state were more hesitant and even hostile to the idea of a military insurgency.
