In this study , starting with Republican period, the developments experienced in the housing sector in Turkey are analyzed with specific emphasis on the applications and implementations during the last decade.In order to highlight Turkish experience, the developments seen in the field of in the West are summarized.Moreover, the policy applications in housing until 1980 has been studied, and by examining particularly the conditions after 1980 a kind of locational analysis has been tried to be accomplished.Concerning the applications after 1980, the structural changes in the housing sector brought by the enactment of the Mass Housing Law of 1984 are indicated together with certain critisims and suggestions.Finally, the distribution of credit source provided for housing during 1984-1989 are analyzed within a spatial content.
