O knihe

This book is suitable for readers of all ages. it is borne out of experience as a cancer care giver to my late Mum Teresa Kerubo Karani who was diagnosed with bladder Cancer that spread to the kidney. The book aims at creating awareness and sensitizing people on systemic cancer, and specifically Kidney Cancer. Kidneys play a vital role of purifying blood and removing wastes that if allowed to accumulate would be harmful to the body. Cancer is like a bush fire that starts slowly and if not put off early enough can easily spread causing massive destruction of cells, tissues and organs in the body. Cancer of the kidney disease if discovered early and treated early can be completely cured. Before diagnosis, mum was a healthy, active, happy and hard working lady. Little did I know that mum would succumb to cancer, since I believed she would recover and go on with normal life. Care givers experience challenges that have implications on family roles and require proper counseling and emotional support during and after the cancer. I have published other books entitled 'Psychosocial Determinants of Adherence to Antiretroviral Therapy' and 'Counseling Therapy for Clients under Rehabilitation.
