Although this story is Fiction, Emma and Grandma are very real.

Emma lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her parents and has four siblings, two sisters and two brothers and is studying to be a Doctor.

Emma started baking with me when she was 3 years old, she would sit on the counter and help add ingredients to the mixing bowl, she also loved to eat the butter measured for the recipe.

Whenever we got together we would bake, for family birthdays, special occasions, summer vacations and especially at Christmas time we would do the Christmas baking, which must include a Bourbon Christmas Cake, Christmas Squares, Cherry Cake, Shortbread Refrigerator Cookies and Gingerbread Cookies. We also made our Signature Blueberry Cake which was a favorite year round. When Emma was 12 years old she wrote a story called The "Christmas Bakers " for me, a fairytale of adventure and accomplishment of the fictional Emma and Grandma. Emma also included a hand written recipe book of all our favorite recipes.

I have enjoyed reading this story often, over the years and cherish it dearly, I want to share it and preserve some of our special memories.

This will be a surprise for Emma and I hope she and all who read it will enjoy it as much as I have.

Maybe our cook book will come later.
