They were stealing souls from the angelic side of the river. Enraged, Michael refused his order to return. Instead he chose to stand on the riverbank between the darkness and the light. He was joined by his brother Gabriel and half of his warriors. Together they founded the city of St Peter's Gate in the renamed 'Valley of Angels'.
