The purpose of the research was to identify the key variables factors that have an impact on successful mergers & acquisition transactions, and to determine whether the capital structure of the financing has an impact on success. Three main research methods were implemented for assessing the relevance of the variables; online surveys as well as a structured interview were used for determining both the qualitative and quantitative key factors of a transaction; the findings concerning the quantitative factors were supported by an LBO model.
