This book introduces a new methodology for governance performance assessment of lake basins - Adaptive Integrated Lake Basin Management (AILBM) and tested it on the water governance performance of the Songkhla Lake Basin, (SLB) Thailand. A comprehensive mixed-method multilevel assessment was conducted and a series of assessment tools were developed for lake basin water governance performance assessment. Consequently, the perception of the local people to governance performance, quantitative institutional analysis and composite indicator assessment blended together revealed the governance performance status of the SLB. AILBM can also be used to assess other natural resource systems governance performance. The concepts in this book have been published in various peer-review journals; and are open to further interpretation.
