Bringa-della, the last king of Pegu, who conquered Ava, and m 1754, put to death Douipdi, an old man, the last emperor of its ancient dynasty. In the following wars he lost his cap1tal, Pegu, and became the prisoner of Alom pra, chief of the Birmans. For some time his captivity' was mild, but the inhabitants of Pegu breaking out into rebellion against their conquerors, he was tried, condemned, and put to death b the hand of the public executioner.
