This book will attempt to examine the rise and fall of craft in Ireland, its cultural history and early beginnings, as well as its declining popularity among consumers. It will examine the root causes and effects of such a fall within a social, economic and cultural context. The analysis should shed some light into ways of improving and regenerating a failing industry. It will also look at ways to combat economic downturns to prevent the loss of the craft industry and its unique Irish heritage.
