He also had a vast knowledge of the construction of space ships. On one of their many camping trips, James and Richie discussed building a space ship to travel back in time. It was decided that James Bono would travel to back in time. James wanted to go back to the year 1870 to warn general George Custer not to go to Little Big Horn because him and his company will be defeated in a terrible battle. The space ship malfunctions and lands instead in the year 300 B.C.
