There is a growing interest in the development of new materials which enhance optimal utilization of natural renewable resources. The wastes generated by plastic possess an unmanageable environmental threat. Natural fibre reinforced composite is an emerging area in polymer science and technology. Natural fibres such as jute, coir, sisal etc. belong to this category are cost effective with biodegradable, low density, high specific properties and nonabrasive. Availability of natural fibre, low cost and ease of manufacturing have urged the attention of researchers towards the possibility of reinforcement of natural fibre to improve their mechanical properties and study the extent to which they satisfy the required specification of good reinforced polymer composite for industrial and structural applications.
