O knihe

""From Shore to Shore: A Journey of Nineteen Years"" is a memoir written by Agnes Elizabeth Claflin in 1873. The book chronicles her life and experiences as a missionary in China from 1853 to 1872. Claflin describes her journey from the United States to China, her work as a teacher and evangelist, and her interactions with the local Chinese people. She also discusses the political and social climate of China during this time, including the Taiping Rebellion and the Opium Wars. Throughout the book, Claflin provides insight into the challenges and rewards of missionary work in a foreign land. ""From Shore to Shore"" is a fascinating historical account of one woman's journey to spread Christianity and promote cultural exchange in 19th century China. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
