O knihe

This book is both a theoretical and empirical socio-legal study on the phenomenon of increasing harmonization of national legislations on the global level in the contemporary world. The author dedicated the first part of the book to the causes of the process of globalization of law, which could be objective (social), regarding fields like technology, economy, politics, and culture, as well as subjective causes. In each of these areas, the author finds characteristic examples: in the field of technology, these are IT and biotechnology; in economics, international finance, international trade, and regional economic integration; in politics, typical examples are the EU, INGO, and international conventions; in culture, values such as life, health, and environmental protection. The second part of the study refers to the consequences of the phenomenon, which can be legal and social, and are found in the same areas with the analysis of the characteristic examples.
