Izzie Stevens

Isobel Katherine Stevens, more commonly known as Dr. Izzie Stevens, is a fictional character on the ABC television series Grey's Anatomy. The character is portrayed by actress Katherine Heigl, and was created by series producer Shonda Rhimes. Izzie works at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital as a surgical intern and later resident, with storylines focusing on her relationships with fellow staff members Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), George O'Malley (T.R. Knight) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). It is known that she has a strained relationship with her mother, and never talks about her father, promting belief that she doesn't know him. Her mother is obsessed with pyschics and is very overwhelming. She also revealed how she had to pay for their trailer home with her own money because her mother wasted the money she had. She also reveals how she was close to her grandmother who she watched cook and bake, something which Izzie is very interested in, by baking numerous baked goods when she is feeling down.
