Perioperative anxiety is a frequent phenomenon among patients. It is even more pronounced in patients undergoing AR, especially in the orthopedic OR, where noise levels are alarmingly high, and are therefore responsible for increasing the stress and anxiety felt by the patient. Various pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches have been developed, but premedication remains the most widely used. However, because of its undesirable effects, various studies have tried to find an alternative, namely TM. The latter is a non-pharmacological, risk-free and low-cost approach, and has proved its efficacy in several studies.The aim of our study was to evaluate the contribution of TM on perioperative anxiety during scheduled orthopedic surgery of the lower limb under AR.
