O knihe

The X-Files is an American science fiction television series, with the "mythology" or "mytharc" episodes being set mostly in the United States from the early 1940s to 2008. The series traces the disparate storylines of FBI Special Agent officer named Fox Mulder a believer in supernatural phenomena, his skeptic partner Dana Scully in the first seven years and their boss, FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner. Later seasons would introduce another skeptic by the name John Doggett a skeptic and Monica Reyes a believer as Mulder. The overarching story is built around a government conspiracy to hide the truth about alien existence and their doomsday plan, which serves as a human-scaled metaphor within a complex structure of mythology. Mulder, the FBI invesigater of supernatural phenomena, sets up the show's mythology with a prologue in various episodes, most notably "One Son". Most mythological elements in The X-Files relate to extraterrestial beings only known as the "Colonist", since their main goal is to colonize Earth in 2012.
