The terms visual and graphic representation is used purposefully to include a wide range of visual meaning-making devices and symbols across theoretical constructs. Illustrations have been part of our learning mechanism since our childhood, as images are used in storybooks to stimulate our imaginations. Drawings and illustrations can be applied to learning vocabulary or depicting concepts and content and also the imagery is a powerful tool that aids comprehension. According to Penny Ur "it is very much easier to concentrate on thinking about something if you can see that something, or at least see some depicted or symbolic representation of it". In this book the researcher shows that the graphic representation used as an effective technique can be applied in comprehending a text and it is an effective tool to help translators to comprehend better and therefore to reach a more accurate and more fluent translation and also it has been shown that in translating it has a greater effect on art students.
