The drugs Shunthi & Gud, possess Kaphavatahara and Tridoshahara properties, which play an important role in pacifying doshas, participating in the pathogenesis of the disease Kaphaja Pratishyaya. This immune-modulation reduce the inflammatory process in nasal cavity and sinuses. The anti-inflammatory activity of drugs prevents the inflammatory process. The local irritation made by the drug is helpful to liquefy the purulent sputum and ultimately expelled.
