This book allows scientists to understand the physical behaviour of the Earth, specific concepts and techniques developed in the twentieth century to study the environment in order to protect people and exploit the natural resources found in this environment. Among the techniques used to probe the Earth, some may be particularly effective for studying a subsurface site.
