Cardiac pacing is an emergency medical and surgical treatment of symptomatic bradycardia. It is a growing reality in Africa despite many pitfalls. This book provides a holistic presentation of some aspects of the cardiac pacing problem in Africa. Capacity building of medical and paramedical cardiology human resources is an essential sub-basis for the consolidation of cardiac pacing activity. The insufficiently adequate technical platform as well as the economic impoverishment in a context of acquisition of pacemakers at a high price further hinders the access of the populations to this therapy necessary to avoid a good number of ''stupid deaths'' in our hospitals.
